The scandal of the Dispatches programme

I'm pleased to hear that the West Midlands Police and the CPS have apologised unreservedly for their false claims regarding the Dispatches programme: Undercover Mosque. Not that they had a choice. Their claims were nothing but lies, fuelled by their own political agenda.

As Melanie Phillips says quite rightly, it shouldn't stop there. Both the West Midlands Police and the CPS should be under the microscope for putting political correctness before the prevention of terrorism. It is the preachers of hate who incubate the terrorists, yet they are getting away with murder. If neither our politicians nor our police are prepared to grapple with this reality, we have little chance in the fight against terror.
